Southern Peach Sweet Tea
Southern is implied when you think about sweet tea. This quick, easy, and heavenly recipe is a summer staple at our farmstead. From the time you think ‘I’d like some sweet tea, but not plain ‘ol sweet tea…’ until the tea crashes over the ice cubes and is ready for your enjoyment…it’s just a tiny bit of time!

Why this is SO good:
Sweet tea is so American! And never so much more as when we add our Southern Peach Sugar to the mix. It’s a refreshing way to be refreshed!
Ingredients:
3 family sized black tea bags (or 6 regular black tea bags, tied together!)
2 cups water + 14 cups cold water
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup Southern Peach Sugar
1/4 tsp baking soda
How to make it:
Bring 2 cups of water to almost a boil in a saucepan, remove from heat.
Steep the tea bags. 5 minutes = light tea, 20 minutes = strong tea.
Add the 1/2 cup white sugar and the 1/3 cup Southern Peach Sugar to a heat safe pitcher.
Give the tea bags a little squeeze to get that goodness, then toss them.
Pour the hot tea over the sugar and stir it up good!
Add the 14 cups cold water to the pitcher, and then the 1/4 tsp baking soda. Stir it up!
Refrigerate, or pour directly over ice and enjoy!
How to store it:
In the fridge, up to a week! The longer it’s refrigerated, the darker and stronger it will get.
So, what if:
This tea is too strong. Ok, just add a bit of water to dilute it down a bit, and then next time steep it for less time!
The tea isn’t strong enough. You could always opt for making it a Long Island! Or, just steep longer next time. You can also add some fresh peach slices to liven things up!
