Why this is SO good:

Sweet tea is so American! And never so much more as when we add our American Bourbon Black Walnut Sugar to the brew. A bit caramel-y, a bit walnut-y, and all delicious. It’s a refreshing way to be refreshed!

Ingredients:

3 family sized black tea bags (or 6 regular black tea bags)

2 cups water + 14 cups cold water

3/4 cups white sugar

3/4 cups American Bourbon Black Walnut Sugar (ABBW, because that name is LONG!)

1/4 tsp baking soda

How to make it:

  1. Tie the tea bags together.

  2. Bring 2 cups of water to boil in a saucepan, remove from heat

  3. Steep the tied-together tea bags. 5 minutes = light tea, 15 minutes = strong tea.

  4. Add the 3/4 cup white sugar and the 3/4 cup ABBW Sugar to your heat safe pitcher.

  5. Give the tea bags a little squeeze to get that goodness, then toss them.

  6. Pour the hot tea over the sugar and stir it up good!

  7. Add the 14 cups cold water to the pitcher, and then the 1/4 tsp baking soda. Stir it up!

  8. Refrigerate, or pour directly over ice and enjoy!

How to store it:

In the fridge, up to a week! The longer it’s refrigerated, the darker and stronger it will get.

So, what if:

This tea is too strong. Ok, just add a bit of water to dilute it down a bit, and then next time steep it for less time!
